(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Colts’ Super Bowl rings will be made by an Indianapolis company.
Officials with Herff Jones say getting a contract to make the coveted champion rings is a first for them.
Dave Burkert is vice president and general manager for the Circle City-based class ring makers. He says the company is finalizing the design for the rings now and it's being kept a secret, even from the Colts' players and coaches.
Burkert says the NFL allows up to 150 rings made, to be given to not just the team, but the coaching staff and administration as well.
Burkert says the rings will be handed out at a private ceremony sometime this summer.
