(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts open a three-day mini-camp today at the team’s headquarters on the west side of Indianapolis.
It will be the first opportunity for Tony Dungy and his staff to evaluate the holdovers from last season's Super Bowl championship team as well as looking at some of the new players.
The Colts were particularly hard hit by free agency during the off-season, especially on defense. Gone are starting cornerbacks Nick Harper and Jason David, safety Mike Doss, defensive lineman Montae Reagor and former Pro-Bowl linebacker Cato June.
In their place, the Colts will try to replace the starters with backups from last season and rookies. Marlin Jackson, Kelvin Hayden, Tim Jennings and T.J. Rushing will compete for the starting jobs at corner along with rookies Daymeion Hughes and Michael Coe.
Second-year linebacker Freddie Keiaho opens mini-camp as the starter in June's starting weakside spot.
