(SYRACUSE, NY) - The Indianapolis Indians ran their win streak to five games with a 4-3 win over the Syracuse Chiefs.
The Chiefs scored all three of their runs in the bottom of the first with Kevin Barker hitting an RBI single and Chad Mattola and Erik Kratz drawing bases-loaded walks.
The tribe responded with a four-run fifth as Humberto Cota capped the inning with a go-ahead two-run single.
The Chiefs have dropped three in a row. Game three of the four-game series is scheduled for tonight in Syracuse.
