(SOUTH BEND, IN) - Notre Dame Football Coach Charlie Weis has narrowed the competition to replace Brady Quinn as starting quarterback to three.
Evan Sharpley, Jimmy Clausen and Demetrius Jones will compete for the starting job with sophomore Zach Frazer falling by the wayside.
Sharpley was Quinn's backup last season and is the only one of the three with game experience. Sharpley played in eight games last year, but threw only two passes, completing a seven-yarder against Michigan.
