(COLUMBUS, OH) - The Columbus Clippers hit three home runs and held off a late Indianapolis charge to defeat the Indians 7-5.
Michael Restovich hit a two-run homer with Brent Abernathy and Larry Broadway adding solo shots off Indianapolis starter Michael Tejera, who took the loss.
Jose Hernandez had an RBI double and scored twice for the tribe, who have lost six of their last seven to fall three-games behind first-place Toledo in the IL West.
Game three of the four-game series is tonight in Columbus.
In other Tribe news, three members of the Indianapolis Indians, including former ball state pitcher Bryan Bullington, have been invited to participate in the Triple-A All-Star Game.
Bullington and infielders Yurendell De Caster and Brian Bixler have been chosen to represent the International League against the Pacific Coast League on July 11th in Albuquerque.
Bullington, a native of Madison, Indiana, was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates with the first overall pick in the 2002 Major League Draft and is 9-and-4 this season.
