(MUNCIE, IN) - Ronny Thompson has ended his 15-month stay as the head men’s basketball coach at Ball State University.
Thompson made the announcement in a letter sent to the university Thursday afternoon. The announcement ended a week and a half of speculation surrounding Thompson's position following two breaches of NCAA rules within the past twelve months.
Ball State Athletic Director Tom Collins said that he was disappointed in Thompson's decision and that he never considered firing the coach despite the rule breaches.
