(COLUMBUS, OH) - Brandon Watson drove home the go-ahead run with an RBI single in the seventh as the Columbus Clippers defeated the Indianapolis Indians 5-2.
The Tribe scored both of their runs in the third on a Michael Ryan RBI double and a Brad Eldred run-scoring groundout.
Brent Abernathy tied the game with a two-run double in the bottom of the third. Kory Casto gave Columbus insurance in the eighth when he slammed a two-run homer as the Clippers snapped a three-game losing streak.
Game two of the four-game series is scheduled for tonight in Columbus.
