(UNDATED) - The college football season gets underway tonight at renovated Scheumann Stadium in Muncie as the Ball State Cardinals face Mid-American Conference rival Miami.
The Cardinals are coming off a 5-and-7 season in 2006 that included three wins in their final four games and a 5-and-3 record in the MAC. Ball State won last year's game 20-17 in Oxford, but the Redhawks have taken five of the last seven games in the series. Miami went 2-and-10 last season, 2-and-6 in Mid-American Conference play.
The rest of Indiana's division one teams open their seasons on Saturday. In the bowl division, Notre Dame hosts Georgia Tech, Indiana is home to Indiana State and Purdue is at Toledo.
In the Championship Division, formerly known as Division 1AA, Butler hosts Albion and St. Francis of Illinois is at Valparaiso.
