(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) The Indianapolis Colts are back on the practice field this afternoon following Saturday night’s 37-10 preseaon win over the Detroit Lions.
Peyton Manning played the first half, completing 23 of 27 passes for 233 yards and three touchdowns. The level of play did not drop off much with Jim Sorgi and the second unit. Sorgi went 16-of-23 for 171 yards and a pair of scores.
No frontrunner came out in the battle to backup Joseph Addai at running back. Clifton Dawson had three carries for 13 yards, Kenton Keith also had three carries for twelve yards while Dede Dorsey carried the ball four times for five yards.
The Colts appear to have gotten through Saturday night's game with the Lions relatively healthy. Defensive end Dwight Freeney, safety Matt Giordano and safety Norman Lejeune left the game with injuries.
Head Coach Tony Dungy said that if this had been a regular season game, Freeney and Giordano would have likely returned.
Freeney is not expected to play this Friday in the preseason finale against Cincinnati.
Saturday's game was the final chance for the colts to evaluate players before Tuesday's cutdown to 75 players. The roster must be down to 53 on September 1st.
