(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Tamika Catching’s three-pointer with 31 seconds remaining in overtime gave Indiana the lead for good as the Fever defeated the Connecticut Sun 93-88 in game three of their WNBA Eastern Conference semifinal series.
The Fever win the series two games to one and advance to the conference finals for the second time in franchise history.
Indiana trailed by 22 points in the second quarter and their comeback was the largest in WNBA playoff history. Catchings finished with 30 points and 13 rebounds with Tamika Whitmore adding 24.
Anna DeForge continued her scoring prowess against Connecticut, finishing with 18 as she averaged 25 points per game in the series. Sheri Sam also reached double-figures for Indiana with 14 points.
Former Purdue star Katie Douglas led Connecticut with 27 points with Lindsay Whalen and Asjha Jones adding 21.
The Fever will face either Detroit or New York for the Eastern Conference Championship.
The Shock host the Liberty tonight at the Palace of Auburn Hills with the winner advancing to face the Fever. That best-of-three series will begin on Friday.
If Detroit advances, game one will be at Conseco Fieldhouse with games two and three at The Palace. If the Liberty win, game one will be at Madison Square Garden with games two and three at the Fieldhouse.
