(TOLEDO, OH) - Brian Bixler drove home the go-ahead run with a single in the top of the tenth inning as the Indianapolis Indians defeated the Toledo Mud Hens 6-3 in extra innings.
Michael Ryan hit a solo homer and Jose Hernandez drove in a pair of runs as the Indians cut Toledo's lead in the International League West to six and-a-half games. Timo Perez had two RBI for the mud hens.
Game two of the four-game series is scheduled for this evening in Toledo.
