(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The WNBA’s Eastern Conference Finals get underway tonight in Indianapolis as the Indiana Fever host the Detroit Shock.
The Fever advanced to the conference finals by outlasting Connecticut while the Shock also went the distance with New York, eliminating the Liberty in three games.
Detroit swept Indiana out of the playoffs last year in the conference semifinals en route to their second league championship. This is the farthest the Fever have ever advanced in the playoffs. They were swept by Connecticut in the 2005 conference finals.
The regular season saw Indiana and Detroit split their four games, with each team pulling out one win on the other's home court.
Following tonight's game, the series shifts to the Palace of Auburn Hills for game two on Sunday and game three, if necessary, on Monday.
