(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts will hold a brief walkthrough today as they wrap up preparations for Thursday night’s opener against the New Orleans Saints.
The defending Super Bowl champions went through some upheaval during the offseason, losing both starting cornerbacks and former pro-bowl linebacker Cato June to free agency. On offense, they were shaken by the unexpected retirement of long-time left tackle Tarik Glenn, who has been replaced in the starting lineup by rookie Tony Ugoh.
Head Coach Tony Dungy is hoping the colts get off to their customary quick start. They are 14-and-2 in the month of September under Dungy and have not lost a regular season game in September or October since 2004.
Three Colts missed all or part of practice on Tuesday. Offensive lineman Charley Johnson is not expected to play on Thursday night as he recovers from a knee injury suffered against the Bengals last Friday.
Offensive lineman Dylan Gandy sat out with a groin injury. He is scheduled to test it during today's walkthrough and if all goes well, he will be available against the Saints.
Defensive back Tim Jennings left practice early after twisting a knee. His availability for Thursday's game will be determined later.
