(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts return to the practice field this afternoon for their final full-scale workout before Thursday’s regular season opener with the New Orleans Saints at the RCA Dome.
They will hold a brief walk-through on Wednesday as they prepare to defend their Super Bowl title.
The Saints were one win away from meeting the Colts in Super Bowl XLI last February, falling to the Chicago Bears in the NFC Championship game. The Saints have won five of the previous nine games between the two teams, going five-and-1 since the Colts moved to Indianapolis in 1984.
The Colts could be short a pair of offensive linemen when they face the Saints on Thursday. Charlie Johnson missed practice on Monday as he recovers from a knee injury suffered in last Friday's preseason finale in Cincinnati. He is not expected to play against New Orleans.
Dylan Gandy's injury does not appear to be as severe. Head Coach Tony Dungy hopes Gandy will be ready by game time.
