The Michigan State Spartans topped Notre Dame 31-14.
The Irish scored their first two offensive touchdowns of the season, and even recorded positive yards rushing... but it still wasn't enough. The Irish recorded just nine first downs the entire afternoon.
Brian Hoyer led the Spartans through the air, throwing for 135 yards and four touchdowns.
In the 119-year history of the Fighting Irish football program, this is the first team to ever start a season with four straight losses.
