(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indiana Pacers have suspended forward Shawne Williams for the first three games of the NBA regular season.
Williams was arrested on Tuesday following a traffic stop. The second-year player from Memphis was charged with operating a vehicle while never having received a license - a class-c misdemeanor - as well as being cited for driving a vehicle with expired license plates and making an illegal lane change.
Marijuana was found in the vehicle, but one of the passengers in the SUV said the marijuana was his, so Marion County prosecutors did not charge Williams with drug possession.
Williams and his two passengers have an initial hearing in Marion Superior Court this morning.
