(UNDATED) - It may be another two weeks before the Indiana Hoosiers and the Purdue Boilermakers know if they will be playing in a postseason bowl game.
A representative from the Insight Bowl was in Bloomington Saturday for the old oaken bucket game and told The Indianapolis Star that there are still scenarios to play out before a decision is made.
Dick Stemple says that Ohio State's uncertain spot in the bowl championship series means that a final decision probably won't be made until after the December 1st conference championship games.
Indiana, Purdue and Michigan State all finished with 7-and-5 records and are possibilities for the December 31st game in Tempe, Arizona.
The Big Ten has ten bowl-eligible teams but affiliations to only seven bowl games, leading to uncertainty as to whether seven wins are enough to guarantee a bowl berth. The Big Ten could pick up some additional bowl berths if other conferences do not have enough bowl-eligible teams to fulfill their commitments.
