(MITCHELL) - It was a mixed weekend for Mitchell Bluejackets basketball as the girls ticked off another win, and the boys got doused again.
Zak Kern led the Boys Jackets in a valiant 59-73 effort against Salem High School, putting up 14 buckets of his own. Mitchell was in the lead throughout the first half but a push by Salem in the third and fourth quarters put the Lions ahead when it was all said and done.
However in girls action, Natalie Morris put up 25 points to point the Lady Jackets to victory over Crawford County on Saturday, 46-37. Earlier in the day the girls JV team slipped by Crawford County, 37-36.
In other basketball news, the boys Orleans Bulldogs cleaned Northeast Dubois' house 67-57 on Friday night. Jacob Smith lead the Bulldogs with 36 points, which equals to around 53-percent of Orleans' total scores.
