(DETROIT, MI) - The Purdue football team wraps up its season tonight at Ford Field in Detroit as they face Central Michigan in the Motor City Bowl.
The Boilers finished the regular season with a 7-and-5 record with one of their wins coming over the Chippewas 45-22 in mid-September at Ross-Ade Stadium. Purdue struggled over the final half of the season, losing their final three games and five of their last seven.
The Boilermakers' latest setback was a 27-24 defeat to archrival Indiana in the annual Old Oaken Bucket game. It was the first time Purdue had lost to the Hoosiers since 2001.
Central Michigan is the defending Motor City Bowl champion, defeating middle Tennessee 31-14 one year ago. The Chippewas are 8-and-5 and defeated Miami of Ohio in the MAC championship game on December 1st to earn their berth in tonight's game.
Purdue has won all three previous meetings between the Boilermakers and the Chippewas.
