(WEST LAFAYETTE) - It was a tale of two halves in West Lafayette as Purdue topped the Fighting Illini of Illinois 74-67 Saturday.
The Boilers trailed by as many as nine points, and were down by eight at half-time. However, a 20-3 second half run put the Boilers in the driver's seat for good as they cruised to the seven-point victory.
Keaton Grant led Purdue with 22 points, and Nemanja Calasan chipped in with 17 points. Robbie Hummel also had a strong game with 13 points on 5-10 shooting for the Boilers, who improve to 13-5 overall with the win.
The Illini were led by Shaun Pruitt and Brian Randle who both scored a team-high 15 points.
Illinois has now dropped six of their last seven games and drop to 9-10 overall, 1-5 in Big Ten play.
