(LAWRENCE COUNTY) - Saturday was a big day in Lawrence County women’s basketball, as the BNL Lady Stars brought home a win and the Mitchell Lady Bluejackets got doused.
The Lady Stars took the heat to the ladies from Scottsburg by a 20 point final margin, winning 85-65.
Saturday's impressive win puts the Lady Stars at 10-2 on the season. Up next for BNL are the ladies of Columbus East, who visit the BNL Fieldhouse on Tuesday night for a 7:30pm tipoff.
However, despite Natalie Morris and Shelbie Wilson putting up 14 points each for Mitchell, they just couldn't bring home a "W" from Seymour High School on Saturday, losing 59-39.
The loss extends Mitchell's losing streak to three games in a row, bringing the Lady Bluejackets' record to 6-7 on the season. Up next for Mitchell is a home game against the Eastern Greene Thunderbirds on Thursday night.
