(LEOPOLD) - Perry Central’s homecoming hopes were crushed by the Mitchell Bluejackets this past Saturday night, 68-55.
The Commodores kept it close in the first half but the Bluejackets had a different tune for Perry Central and extended their lead in the second half as much as 13 points.
Austin Claudell scored a career high 29 points and helped chip in 2 free throws for the Bluejackets. The Mitchell boys were also led by Evan Sanders with 14 points, Taylor Phillips with 11 points and Dwayne Eubanks with 10 points. The "Big Guy" Johnny Henderson and crew awarded the entire Mitchell team with player of the game honors for their efforts.
The win pushes Mitchell to 5-6 on the season. Up next for the Bluejackets is a trip to Eastern (Pekin) Friday night to face the Musketeers.
