(WEST LAFAYETTE) - Amid reports Saturday that Paul Chryst, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Wisconsin, was in line to become Joe Tiller’s successor as Purdue’s head football coach, Boilermaker Athletic Director Morgan Burke insisted there was no imminent change in the works.
"Joe Tiller is my coach next year," was all Burke would say when contacted Saturday evening.
Reports indicated That burke had hired an outside consulting firm to identify Tiller's replacement, with the possibility of that person joining the Purdue staff immediately and then taking over when Tiller stepped down.
It is believed that Chryst was the choice among three possible successors recommended by the consulting firm.
When asked if he had hired outside help, if the process had begun to find Tiller's successor or if a succession plan was in the works, Burke would not comment.
