(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - Indiana University is expected to determine the fate of men’s basketball coach Kelvin Sampson today.
Rumors about Sampson's fate were flying on Thursday, including a FOX Sports report that Sampson had been fired.
An IU spokesman said yesterday afternoon that reports of Sampson's firing or resignation were incorrect and that no decision had been made at that time.
FOX later amended the report on its website, citing university sources that say Sampson would either be fired or suspended today.
Sampson has been the subject of an investigation by Athletic Director Rick Greenspan into charges that Sampson committed five major NCAA violations.
The charges involve improper phone calls to recruits and lying to investigators about those calls.
