(NEW ALBANY) - Turnovers and poor shooting plagued the BNL Lady Stars sectional title chances Saturday night in their loss to the Seymour Owls, 56-52.
The Seymour Owls learned from their mistakes the last time the two teams met on the hardwood. In that matchup, BNL caused 23 Seymour turnovers--this time the Owls ended up with only 13 when it was all said and done.
Tabi Terrell led the Stars with 18 points, Amanda Anderson 12, Megan Burton 11 and Miranda Mann 7. The Stars were 11-19 on the charity stripe and were 19-42 from the field overall.
Rebounds played a factor in the game, with Burton grabbing 14 and both Terrell and Anderson capturing 8 each. Burton also blocked an impressive 8 shots in the loss to the Owls.
For Seymour, Kristin Turner led the way with 22 points, Erin Murphy 15 and Bridgette Jones claimed 12 as the Owls move to 18-5 on the season.
The Lady Stars end up 16-6 on the season under the leadership of head coach Kurt Godlevske. BNL will also be saying goodbye to senior leader Megan Burton.
