(BLOOMINGTON) - The NCAA accuses IU men’s basketball coach Kelvin Sampson and his staff of five major violations involving recruiting violations and lying about them to investigators and the school.
The NCAA leveled the allegations in a letter sent to IU officials late last week that was made public Wednesday.
The NCAA says the staff made impermissible calls while already under restriction and repeatedly lied about it when investigated.
IU has 90 days to respond to the NCAA before the NCAA Committee on Infractions will examine the case in June.
IU has yet to take any action, although Athletic Director Rick Greenspan says the school views the allegations with "grave concern."
