(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts have made one-year tenders to five players, keeping them restricted free agents.
The one-year contracts worth $927,000 dollars were issued to guard Dylan Gandy, safety Matt Giordano, defensive tackle Darrell Reid and tight ends Bryan Fletcher and Ben Utecht.
Issuing the tenders allows the Colts to match any offer a player may receive from another team. The Colts would also receive a fourth-round draft pick as compensation should another team sign Gandy or Giordano, who were taken by the colts in the fourth round.
Reid, Fletcher and Utecht were undrafted players, so the Colts would not receive compensation should they be signed by another team. The free agent signing period began at midnight this morning.
Five Colts - guard Jake Scott, defensive end Josh Thomas, defensive tackle Dan Klecko, wide receiver Aaron Moorehead and linebacker Rocky Boiman - became unrestricted free agents this morning.
Linebacker Rob Morris and defensive tackle Anthony "Booger" McFarland were released on Wednesday although both could be re-signed.
