(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indy Racing League founder and Indianapolis Motor Speedway owner Tony George is sounding off about the merger with Champ Car racing.
George tells Indy radio station 1070 The Fan that he is very excited about the deal. George says it will make IRL races more competitive.
IRL officials already say at least nine Champ Car entries will take part in the season-opening race in Homestead, Florida.
George says several former Champ Car races may pop up on the IRL schedule in 2009. Details of the merger were announced Wednesday afternoon.
