(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Tony Stewart was in Indianapolis Monday to receive his ring for winning last July’s Allstate 400 at the Brickyard.
Indianapolis Motor Speedway CEO Tony George presented the ring to the Columbus, Indiana native in a ceremony at the Indiana Statehouse.
Last July's win was Stewart's second in three years at the Brickyard. Members of the Indiana House of Representatives and the Indiana Senate honored Stewart in a joint resolution for his accomplishments on the track and his charitable acts off the track.
Besides the two Brickyard wins, Stewart lists Sprint Cup Series championships in 2002 and 2005 on his resume.
George presented the ring to Stewart on the floor of the Indiana House of Representatives.
Stewart is back on the track this weekend with the Budweiser Shootout at Daytona scheduled for Saturday and Sprint Cup qualifying for the February 17th Daytona 500 on Sunday.
