(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The 20th-ranked Indiana Hoosiers open their Big Ten Tournament schedule tonight as they face number-six seed Minnesota.
The Hoosiers are 25-and-6 but lost two of their final three games during the regular season. The Golden Gophers overcame a 16-point deficit to survive an upset bid by Northwestern, defeating the eleventh-seeded Wildcats 55-52 in round one.
The Hoosiers swept the series in the regular season, edging the Gophers in Minneapolis 65-60 on January 17th and having an easier time of it in their 69-55 win on March 5th in Bloomington.
Indiana is expected to have junior guard Jamarcus Ellis available for tonight's game with Minnesota. Ellis was suspended for the Hoosiers' regular season finale last Sunday at Penn State.
Interim Head Coach Dan Dakich has not given a reason for Ellis' suspension, but said during his weekly news conference that it was up to Ellis to show he was ready to return.
Ellis did practice with the team on Thursday.
