Kellen Lewis Suspended From IU Squad

Last updated on Friday, March 7, 2008

(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - Indiana University quarterback Kellen Lewis has been suspended indefinitely for an undisclosed violation of team rules.

Head Coach Bill Lynch, in a release issued by the university Wednesday night, says that "Kellen needs time away from the program and we look forward to his return at some point in the future".

Lewis will not participate when the Hoosiers open spring practice on March 25th.

Lewis, who will be a redshirt junior, led the Hoosiers in rushing as well as passing in 2007. He threw for 3,043 yards with 28 touchdown passes while rushing for 736 yards with nine TD runs, leading IU to a berth in the Insight Bowl. It was Indiana's first bowl appearance since 1993.
