(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts will open the 2008 NFL season in prime time.
The Colts will host the Chicago Bears in a Super Bowl XLI rematch on Sunday, September 7th as the opener for NBC's Sunday Night Football package. It will be the first regular season game played at new Lucas Oil Stadium.
Other Opening Weekend Prime Time Games Announced
The NFL revealed the four prime time games for opening weekend on Monday. The defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants host the Washington Redskins in the Thursday night opener on September 4th with the Minnesota Vikings traveling to the Green Bay Packers and the Denver Broncos facing the Raiders in Oakland for a Monday night doubleheader on September 8th.
The remainder of the schedule will be announced later this month.
