(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Eric Gordon has called a news conference for this afternoon in Indianapolis to announce his future plans.
The 2007 Indiana Mister Basketball led the Big Ten in scoring as a freshman at Indiana University. Several reports have Gordon turning pro.
Gordon averaged 20.9 points per game and is projected to be a lottery pick in the June draft if he does turn pro.
Crean Empty Handed?
If Gordon does decide to enter the NBA Draft, it will leave new IU Head Coach Tom Crean with no returning starters unless he decides to reinstate either sophomore Armon Bassett or junior Jamarcus Ellis, who were suspended last week by then-interim head coach Dan Dakich.
ESPN.com reports that Bassett has asked to meet with Crean while Ellis has not.
IU's other regular starters, D.J. White and Lance Stemler, are seniors.
Crean took over the IU program last week and Gordon's father says the new coach will not influence his son's decision.
