(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Ty Taubenheim and two relievers combined on a three-hitter as the Indianapolis Indians blanked the Pawtucket Red Sox 3-0.
Steve Pearce gave the Tribe a 1-0 lead with an RBI double in the sixth, the Indians scored twice more in the seventh when Paw Sox reliever Dan Kolb balked home a run and then surrendered an RBI single to Josh Wilson.
Taubenheim pitched six innings, allowing two hits while walking three and striking out six. Jesse Chavez threw two innings of perfect relief before Jonah Bayless came in the ninth to pick up his second save of the season.
The Tribe has won five in a row heading to game two of the four-game series this afternoon at Victory Field.
