(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - Georgetown University guard Jeremiah Rivers is transferring to Indiana University.
The 6-4 son of Boston Celtics Head Coach Doc Rivers will have to sit out the upcoming season and will have two years of eligibility remaining.
The Indianapolis Star reports that Rivers informed IU Head Coach Tom Crean of his decision late Monday night, choosing the Hoosiers over Georgia Tech and Central Florida.
Doc rivers confirmed his son's decision on Tuesday.
Rivers played in all 34 games for the Hoyas last season, averaging two and-a-half points in almost 19 minutes per contest.
