(BLOOMINGTON) - Another Indiana University basketball player has been kicked off the team.
New coach Tom Crean says Brandon McGee got the boot for what he's calling "academic and team guideline negligence." McGee was a freshman last season -- he played in 17 games and averaged one-and-a-half points a game.
Crean says he and McGee's high school coach tried to make things work, but says there were, in his words, "basic standard operating procedures that weren't being met."
McGee is the fourth player kicked off the team since the end of the season. With Eli Holman transferring and Eric Gordon declaring for the NBA, the Hoosiers will have just two returning scholarship players next season: Jordan Crawford and Kyle Taber.
