(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Head Coach Tony Dungy classified this weekend’s mandatory three-day mini-camp a success.
Dungy said the three days were productive with the rookies getting acclimated to the team's veteran players as well as to the tempo of the NFL game.
Dungy did not spend much time evaluating personnel. Instead, the focus was on teaching and making sure the rookies are prepared for training camp.
The mini-camp was more notable for who didn't participate. Eight players were listed as present at camp but did not practice. The list includes five starters - safety Bob Sanders, defensive end Dwight Freeney, linebacker Gary Brackett, wide receiver Marvin Harrison and offensive guard Ryan Lilja. All are rehabilitating injuries.
