(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Reigning Indianapolis 500 champion Dario Franchitti stopped by the speedway on Monday.
Following his win in last year's rain-shortened race and his first IndyCar series title, the Scotsman moved on to NASCAR, where he now drives for Chip Ganassi and Felix Sabates.
Franchitti was in Indianapolis to visit noted orthopedist Terry Trammell after breaking his left ankle in a Nationwide Series race at Talladega in late April.
He said it was strange to visit the speedway and not be driving a race car.
