(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indianapolis Motor Speedway officially opens Sunday as the countdown to the 92nd running of the Indianapolis 500 is underway.
The legendary Unser family will be honored throughout the day, with four-time winner Al Unser Sr., two-time winner Al Unser Jr., Al Unser The Third, Robby Unser and Johnny Unser all expected to attend.
On-track activity features the rookie orientation program, consisting of a set of four phases of 10 laps each at increasing speeds to acclimate new drivers to the course. This includes open-wheel veterans who are coming over from the Champ Car Series and haven't raced at Indy before, as well as several IndyCar rookies.
