(INDIANAPOLIS) - For the first time in its history, the One America 500 Festival mini-marathon men’s race had a tie for first place.
Kenyans Lamech Mokono and Valentine Orare crossed the finish line at the same time in the 13.1 mile race.
Officials reviewed videotape and still photos before declaring both men the winners and awarding each of them a full first-place prize of $3,500.
In the women's race, defending champ Janet Cherobon of Lawrenceville, Georgia made it two wins in a row.
