(INDIANAPOLIS) - Rookie driver Jaime Camara has been hospitalized following a crash during practice for the Indianapolis 500.
The Brazilian driver, who passed his rookie test on Sunday, had just turned a lap at more than 218 mph Monday when his dallara struck the outside wall at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Camara got out on his own and was examined at the speedway's infield hospital, but he was complaining of soreness in his back. He was taken to another Indianapolis hospital for treatment.
