(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Big Ten Network and Comcast have come to an agreement where the state’s largest cable company will carry the controversial network on expanded basic cable.
Comcast will carry the Big Ten Network from August 15th through the spring of 2009, at which time Comcast will have the option of moving the channel to digital cable, but not to a sports tier.
The dispute has kept the Big Ten Network off Comcast since the network's debut last summer. Satellite providers Direct TV and Dish Network already carry the Big Ten Network as does AT&T's U-Verse service.
Cable companies such as Time Warner and Brighthouse still do not have deals to carry the Big Ten Network in place.
