(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Carlos Maldonado and Nyjer Morgan hit RBI singles in the bottom of the ninth to lead the Indianapolis Indians to a 3-2 come-from-behind win over the Columbus Clippers.
Adam Boeve put Indianapolis up 1-0 with a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning. Columbus took the lead in the eighth on Luke Montz' two-run single off Indians reliever Jesse Chavez.
Columbus relievers Mike Bacsik and Brian Sanches failed to retire a batter in the night as Brian Bixler led off with a single and Matt Kata followed with a double. Sanches relieved Bacsik at that point and gave up Maldonado's RBI single and an intentional walk to Luis Ordaz before surrendering Morgan's game winner.
The loss snapped the Clippers six-game winning streak. Game three of the four-game set is scheduled for tonight at Victory Field.
