(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Ryan Langerhans scored on a passed ball with two out in the top of the tenth and the Columbus Clippers held on for a 4-3 win over the Indianapolis Indians in extra innings.
Tribe shortstop Brian Bixler snapped a 1-1 tie with a two-run homer in the fifth. The lead held up until the ninth when pinch hitter Alex Escobar slammed a Matt Miller pitch over the left field wall to tie the game at three.
Langerhans hit a one out double off tribe reliever Marino Salas in the tenth and advanced to third following a walk and a fielder's choice. He scored when Michel Hernandez could not handle a Salas pitch to ray Olmedo.
Game two of the four-game series is tonight at Victory Field.
