(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Corey Hamman shut down the Charlotte lineup as the Indianapolis Indians beat the Knights 3-1.
Hamman allowed a run on four hits over six and-a-third innings to pick up his first win of the season with the Tribe.
Neil walker put Indianapolis on the board with an RBI double in the first with Luis Ordaz driving home the go-ahead run with a sixth-inning single.
Noblesville native Wes Whisler, Indiana's Mister Baseball in 2001, started for Charlotte but did not figure in the decision. Whisler allowed a run on five hits in five innings of work.
The Indians have taken two of the first three games of the series with the finale tonight at Victory Field.
