(UNDATED) - Qualifications are set for today for the Camping World Grand Prix at Watkins Glen International.
At the midway point of the IndyCar season, Scott Dixon has been dominant thus far and carried his momentum into Friday's practice session. Dixon posted the afternoon's fastest lap in 1-minute, 30.1947 seconds.
Helio Castroneves finished right behind Dixon with a time of 1-minute, 30.2891 seconds. Dan Wheldon, Vitor Meira, and Will Power rounded out Friday's five fastest drivers.
Dixon leads in the points standings by 43 points over Castroneves. Wheldon is third in the standings and is followed by Tony Kanaan who took home the checkered flag in last week's race, and Danica Patrick.
