(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana University is installing field turf to repair flood damage at Memorial Stadium.
The field suffered damages to the turf and a 10 inch hole was discovered under the turf in the north end after heavy rains and flooding on June 7.
Installation of the new field turf, which will cost about $400,000 dollars but will be covered by insurance, began on Wednesday.
The field should be ready when the Hoosiers open their 2008 football season August 30 against Western Kentucky.
Indiana will become the sixth Big Ten school to have field turf in stadium.
