(TERRE HAUTE, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts practiced without pads Tuesday morning and held a special teams-only workout in the afternoon as training camp continues in Terre Haute.
The preseason opener is on Sunday when the Colts face Washington in the hall-of-fame game at Canton, Ohio.
Head Coach Tony Dungy says he would like to have the starters establish themselves while giving plenty of playing time to the rookies. Dungy says the better the starters play on Sunday night, the quicker he will remove them from the game.
Manning Arrives In Terre Haute
Injured quarterback Peyton Manning has arrived in Terre Haute.
Manning, who has not missed a regular season game in his ten NFL seasons, has been sidelined following surgery to remove an infected bursa sac from his left knee two weeks ago.
Dungy did not say where Manning was other than in Terre Haute because they do not want a lot of people to try to see him.
Dungy says Manning's leg remains immobilized but that the two-time league MVP is progressing well. Dungy says the team will not rush Manning to try to get him back on the field for week three or week four of the preseason.
