(INDIANAPOLIS) - Peyton Manning’s father Archie says his son is at home and doing fine after knee surgery on Monday.
Peyton underwent a procedure to remove an infected bursa sac from his knee, and is expected to miss four to six weeks of training camp and preseason play.
The elder Manning, who was in Indianapolis for a speaking engagement Wednesday, is confident the Colts quarterback will rehab hard and contribute as quickly as he can.
Archie also said his son has been fortunate with few injuries in his professional career. Peyton has started all 160 regular season games since his debut 10 seasons ago.
The Colts expect Manning to be ready for their regular season opener, September 7 against the Chicago Bears.
