(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) The Indianapolis Colts closed out the preseason with a 27-7 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Colts rested all of their starters while the Bengals played without stars Carson Palmer, Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh.
Cincinnati scored touchdowns on its first two possessions to take command while shutting down a Colts offense led by Quinn Gray and Jared Lorenzen.
The lone highlight for the Colts was Indianapolis native Courtney Roby, who returned a kickoff 103 yards for the horseshoes' lone score.
The Colts finish the preseason at 1-and-4.
They face the Chicago Bears in the regular season opener on Sunday, September 7th.
Colts Head Coach Tony Dungy says he would be shocked if two-time league MVP Peyton Manning was not ready to play when the Colts open the regular season against the bears next weekend.
Manning simulated his pregame workout before the Colts' preseason game with the Bengals last night.
He is six weeks removed from surgery to remove an infected bursa sac from his left knee and was activated from the physically unable to perform list last Tuesday.
